Was looking for a modem to go with the new internet service i was going to subscribe to. Rather than getting the modem from the service provider, the usual expectation for new subscribers, i decided to get mine on my own. This mostly to avoid the usual markup premium on the product when ordering the modem from the ISP provider. I decided on the SIEMENS SpeedStream 4100 after asking around to family and friends what they were using. I bought from this particular seller because they offered the entire package and i figured saving myself the extra work of hunting down the equipment peripherals for the less complete packages being offered. It arrived in a timely manner, complete as advertised and is performing to expectation. Being new to modems and internet service I can’t compare it to any other modem out there, but if had to do it over i would once again go with the Siemens.

This was purchased as a replacement for the AT&T Motorola modem, which only worked for a little more than a year. My daughter has had the Siemens modem for 5 years now, so I thought I’d give it a try.
So far so good, just hoping it lasts longer than the Motorola modem.

This was exactly like my old one that broke, so it was very easy to install. It also came with all the cords so now I have extra to switch over to my laptop. I work from home so I was in a panic. It came right away!

Used this modem with ATT on the west coast for 18 months with no problem. Now I have been able to sucessfully change setting and use it with Centurylink DSL. All I had to do was change the advanced setting for PPP to Bridge Mode, and voila! It also works absolutely fine with my Linksys router.
