  1. In spite of reviews warning about the limited range of this device, I ordered one to check it out. Setup could not have been easier. The device works fine on my iPhone but my Nokia although it connects is a real pain to use because of the constant static and clicking. In the setup manual it actually says 10 feet for the location of your cell phones. And it is really limited to 10 feet, otherwise it loses the signal. This is a big limitation in that you must have your cell phones and the Gigaset pretty much on the same counter or at least the same room to get it to work. I don’t know why they built in this limitation on range. My Mini Cooper syncs to my cell phones at least 30-40 feet away in the driveway when it is started. It only loses the signal when the car drives off.

I think it’s a technology that just isn’t quite here yet. I wish Siemens built cell phone bluetooth connections into their actual handsets like Motorola or Panasonic does. Until that happens, I’ll return the Gigaset One and use house and cell phones separately.

  2. I was very excited when I first heard about this product, because it allowed me to utilize the phone wiring throughtout my house. I had no problem getting it to recognize my bluetooth, and thought I was all set. But then everytime I had an incoming call, I couldn’t answer it on my handset, and it would disconnect my cellphone. There is a toll free customer service number included, but when I tried calling it, I got a message that I couldn’t connect ‘from a payphone’ I emailed them, and got a response (2 days later) that it was an issue with my cellphone provider. I finally was able to get it to work, by downloading updates but of course, the USB cable isn’t included (Luckily, by pure chance, the cable from my printer fit). The product itself works great, but I WOULD NEVER, EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM SIEMENS AGAIN.

  3. tlfmd says:

This does NOT work as advertised. It is a great idea but fails x 2.

My goal was to become MORE available to the hospital, I became UN available. It, when in line with the phone system, only lets the phones “chirp” once, on the second ring pulse only. Manufacturer’s help is non-help, no email response, 45 minutes on hold for rep help. I tried twice with the same result. I missed an important call at about 0200 because of this.

I would NOT recommend this if the land line and your availability is critical, as it is a fair weather, daytime only unit.

  4. David Stoner says:

Nothing on their site said it may not work with all phones. 30 million iPhone owners can not use it. I contacted them about it. They offered no tips on making it work. They also did not seem surprised it did not work. Their return policy is full of reasons why they will refuse a refund. I paid $94.01 with shipping for the $86.85 item. I paid $11.11 to return it. They refunded $73.84. My advice on doing business with Antonline, is don’t.

  5. I was a bit concern about this product due to the low score reviews about it, even then I decided to go ahead and give the Gigaset a chance.

The included quick Start Guide is very limited but in this case is a plus, there is more info on the web site for advance features in case you want to go deeper. I did the setup with two Iphone’s, this device works with the Iphone with no problems. The only thing that may make your calls drop is the working distance from the Gigaset and the Iphone, you need to separate the two devices from each other by at least two feet to avoid interference and dropped calls. The quality of the calls is great, one feature I love is the ability to see the caller ID from the person calling in the handset, also, the ability to check your voice mail.

Overall the device works better than I expected, I had some dropped calls in the past but it was due to the cellphone reception on the other side.

The other reviews seem to be about people not knowing how to setup the device properly, the setup takes less than five minutes.
