I DO race go-karts sometimes. That’s exactly it, I’d rather be out doing it. That’s the same reason I don’t watch sports.
Maybe if I could rent an F1 car for a day I’d be more inclined to watch it, but since I’ve never driven one I can’t relate to it. Might as well watch NASCAR, wouldn’t make any difference.
I watch a lot less TV than most people though, so that’s probably why no one gets my point.
you sure can start gokarting or simracing without less money so you can say its accessible to everyone but its damn world championship who would want to watch them on tv doing 60km/h or as you probably know it 30mph on 2.5miles long track so thats why those cars cost so damn much…. so thats probably why no one gets your point here
Because it’s not an entertainment show first and a car show second. And they don’t own those cars, they just test drive them. If someone threw me the keys to a Lambo and told me to go do donuts on a track, I could too.
So you enjoy things that are accessible to people with an average income… why do you watch top gear then? They have REALLY expensive cars on the show.

Do you have an F1 car? Can you afford an F1 car? Can you even afford enough fuel to make one run around a typical F1 lap? Yeah, that’s what I thought. That’s what we call “cost prohibitive”, not “accessible”.
Tbh, it is the only decent motorsport on TV, and the only one with such a high level of coverage.
Sports that are accessible to people with average incomes? Football? Rugby? Overrated in my opinion.

I’m 16! I don’t have any income, my parents live off an average salary, and yet I enjoy F1, and it is accessible.

I’m sure you’re all bloody rich but I, personally, find it difficult to enjoy a sport where people wreck 300 million dollar cars on a daily basis.
