I’m not sure what the hell happened but I could NOT get these things to work to save my life. They LOOK nice and FEEL comfy and the LED’s are neat, but I tried every possible combo of connectivity set-up, Bluetooth format verification and re-charging and…nothing. Except those lights that I mentioned earlier. Neat lights. So, if you want to look like Lobot from Bespin but don’t care about actually LISTENING to your music collection, these little darlin’s are for you!

To the people that are rating down my review I’d really like to know whether you’re Nokia plants or if there’s just something wrong with you. I’m trying to save you from buying a terrible sounding and uncomfortable product and you’re trying to rate my review down. What’s the sense in that? Do what you want though. It’s your choice.
If you want to try another product I suggest the Motorola S305 Bluetooth Stereo Headset (Black). It’s very close in sound quality to the Sennheiser PMX60 Headphones and it’s comfortable in terms of weight. I’ll write a review on it shortly but look at the other reviews for now and you can see the difference.

Original Review:
I really wanted to love these. There are so many glaring problems though.
My setup was this and an iPhone 3G with 3.0 as my OS.
Sound:
I don’t consider myself an audiophile. I do happen to have near perfect pitch, but seriously, you would have to be either deaf or paid to write the reviews (that’s right, I’m calling out everyone below who says the sound is acceptable) to not notice the horrendous, continuous tinny sound. Note that my MP3s are 256kbps VBR or CBR from Amazon and I didn’t have the volume up high!
Here’s the song list I made it through before I wanted to chuck these things out the window:
- I’m Shipping Up To Boston by the Dropkick Murphys (this one sounded especially horrendous)
- The Distance by Cake
- Nugget by Cake
- I Will Survive by Cake
- The Underdog by Spoon
- Going Missing by Maximo Park
- A Praise Chorus by Jimmy Eat World
- Doot Da Doot by The Unlovables (this one also sounded especially horrendous)
I was actually using these in the gym with a ton of background noise and distractions and I could not ignore the tinny sound.
0 out of 5 (Seriously, you can stop reading now; go find something else. I’ll probably try the S305 from Motorola next.)
Comfort:
These things are way too heavy. I kid you not when I say that two hours after using them I realized I had actually strained my neck. The weight is the sole reason these things are uncomfortable.

Construction:
Conversely because they are so heavy I feel like I could pistol whip a brick wall with these and the only thing that would happen would be some minor scuffing.
5 out of 5
Controls:
These are one of the few things that Nokia did correctly. They’re easy to use and well placed.
5 out of 5
Connectivity:
No problems here in my short trial.
5 out of 5.
You know what? I could go on about the other features but lets think about it. If the headphones sound terrible and are uncomfortable than does anything else matter? In my opinion, the answer is no.
Overall: 2 out of 5.

This is such a nice product and sound quality is better than I expected. I had no opportunity to test the battery yet! I am very satisfied so far!!

The first thing I noticed about the Nokia BH-503 was how well it was made. The trouble I had, however, was setting up the Bluetooth function with my AT&T Tilt phone so I could listen to music and also take calls. After a couple of days, and a couple of phone calls to AT&T and Nokia, I finally got my phone and the Nokia headset to work together. But the problem (for me) was that I had to connect the headset to the phone first (via Bluetooth), and then connect to the music player in my phone (also via Bluetooth). For my intended use – short stints driving in my car – this was an incovenience I was not willing to put up with, so I returned the headset to Amazon.
