How can we change the color of the conversation on a htc phone on google chat ?

If it’s not clear:
I have a htc dream phone, and when I use google chat sometimes the chat color background is for example green or yellow, what can I do to change the color of the background? Thanks.

    Download the apps Hand Cent or Chomp SMS. The background/bubbles you can choose a different color.
