I mainly got this little cheap holder because it stated non slip feet and I imagined rubber or some type of feet and it does not have anything on the bottom except the raw aluminum and the edges which are raw. I have a very high end custom wood desk and I bought this to use on that desk but because of the raw nature and scratch ability I cannot use it on my desk which is why i bought it so the iphone wasn’t thrown on its back on the wood. It also cannot hold the phone with the skin on so it was a double down but its so cheap you cant really complain. Overall i guess it will be decent to use somewhere other than my desk without the skin on…another words it will get thrown in my desk drawer.

This is a handy little device for use on the desk, elegant and simple design, BUT it does not hold the iPhone vertically at all (no problems with landscape mode). I tried with a shell case and without one on the iPhone, and in both instances, the iPhone was unstable in the vertical position. The stand would not hold it securely at all. Another issue is that it does not have anti-skid feet which would have kept the stand securely in place. I need to put something (like a book) in front of the stand to prevent it from slipping, making it difficult to access the home button and defeating the purpose of having a stand. Given the price, no complaints but would not recommend.

just came back from office depot with a black business card holder to place my iphone into so that it acts like a monitor. I got my jailbroken iphone to work with the apple bluetooth keyboard so that I can work on stories using Save the cat! app and screenwriter app when im on the go and needed phone to stand up like a monitor.
I tend to tap on the screen a lot and wanted to know if my phone will tip over is I use it with this Elago stand?
thanks

Surely, it looks nice but the picture is very deceiving. It won’t hold your iphone/touch vertically. (I tried both)
Even it is a nice looking product but for the sake of the misleading picture, it only deserve one STAR!!

This stand is just as simple as it looks. A hunk of aluminum shaped to hold your iPhone.
The bottom lip comes up and stops just short of covering screen real estate, so it’s obvious some thought went into the design.
One reviewer here said it didn’t work with iPhones that were using cases. Apparently it depends on the case.
I have an iFrogz Luxe Case for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Blue,Black), which works fine with the stand. I also just purchased Elago’s own S2 case – not a fair comparison since Elago makes both the stand and case, but worth noting that they’re a good match together.
The only drawback I can think of for this stand is that it’s not very portable. Sure, it’s small and light but is just big enough and oddly-shaped enough that it would be uncomfortable to throw into your pocket. A smaller version that could fit on a keychain would be something I’d like to see.
